Basketball Recap: Garinger Wildcats vs. Butler Bulldogs
Garinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Butler Bulldogs 63-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-17 back in December of 2024.
Garinger's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khente Carthran, who posted eight points and nine rebounds. Aaron Lawler was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.
Butler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reece Starnes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Caleb Milligan, who had six points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.
Garinger's record now sits at 1-14. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
