Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rifle Bears. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Summit started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.
Even though they lost, Summit was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive games.
Valeria Olivas went supernova for Rifle, getting 41 digs. Olivas is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
