Basketball Game Preview: East Dubuque Warriors vs. Yorkville Christian Mustangs

The East Dubuque Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Yorkville Christian Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Dubuque is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Last Tuesday, East Dubuque made easy work of River Ridge and carried off a 61-36 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Yorkville Christian was beaten by Neuqua Valley 94-64 on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

East Dubuque pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Yorkville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

East Dubuque couldn't quite finish off Yorkville Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2020 and fell 62-59. Thankfully for East Dubuque, Jaden Schutt (who went 14 of 23 on his way to 36 points and eight boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
