Softball Preview: DeRidder Dragons vs. LaGrange Gators        
        
		
            
 DeRidder is 7-0 against LaGrange since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The DeRidder Dragons will head out on the road to  take on  the LaGrange Gators at 6:00  p.m. DeRidder is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
 DeRidder can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent  contest  on Thursday. Everything went their way against Washington-Marion as DeRidder made off with  a  12-0 win.
  Laila Roberson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Roberson was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Hailey Johnson was  incredible,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4.  Madilynn Jenkins was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, LaGrange was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They fell just short of Washington-Marion by a score of  27-26. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
 DeRidder now  has a winning record of 13-12. As for LaGrange, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
 DeRidder took their  victory against LaGrange  in their previous matchup  back in March by a conclusive  15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for DeRidder since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
