            Softball Recap: North Buncombe Black Hawks vs. Erwin Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            North Buncombe fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Erwin  on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of  2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, the Black Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Sadie Jo Hunter spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 16 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, North Buncombe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gracelynn Fisher, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.
North Buncombe's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Erwin,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-8.
As of now, neither North Buncombe nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
