Volleyball Game Preview: Cape Cod RVT Crusaders vs. Norfolk County Agricultural Rams

The Cape Cod RVT Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Norfolk County Agricultural Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Cape Cod RVT and South Shore Vo-Tech had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Crusaders fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Crusaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Vikings since Wednesday.

Cape Cod RVT wouldn't go down easily and took South Shore Vo-Tech into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 11-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16, 15-4.

Norfolk County Agricultural extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Shivonya Scott. The Rams walked away with a 3-1 win over Old Colony RVT on Wednesday for which the team can thank Scott, who had 17 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Norfolk County Agricultural had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17.

Cape Cod RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Cape Cod RVT skirted past Norfolk County Agricultural 3-2 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
