Vance Charter had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-35 win over the Oxford Prep Griffins. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Griffins are ranked 581st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gary Wilkins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 78% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keyan Richardson, who posted six points.

Vance Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oxford Prep only posted four.

Despite the loss, Oxford Prep had strong showings from Nathan Lee, who had eight points, and Zachariah Arrington, who scored nine points.

Vance Charter's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Oxford Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Vance Charter and Oxford Prep will both be playing Discovery Charter School the next time they take the court. The Griffins will host the Trailblazers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
