Layton extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Davis Darts

The Layton Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 60-34 loss at the hands of Davis. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Layton in their matchups with Davis: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Layton still got an impressive performance from Oakley Homer, who scored 12 points. That was a full 35.3% of Layton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Katlynn Spendlove, who scored six points.

Kendra Kitchen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Davis, scoring 21 points along with four steals and three blocks. Kitchen hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of T'Maea Eteuati, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.

Layton bumped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Davis, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will take on Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Syracuse at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Syracuse is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
