Baseball Recap: Bradford Comes Up Short

Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 4-0 to the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 back in March.

Brock Schurnpal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Bradford's record now sits at 0-13. As for Mississinawa Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradford will venture away from home to take on Tri-Village at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mississinawa Valley, they will head out to square off against Randolph Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blackhawks are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
