Baseball Game Preview: Frederick Douglass Broncos vs. Bryan Station Defenders

For the second straight game, Frederick Douglass will face off against Bryan Station. The Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Defenders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Frederick Douglass is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Bryan Station on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Defenders by a score of 2-1.

For Bryan Station's part, Samuel Wilkerson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. Wilkerson has become a key player for the Defenders: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Bryan Station saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Frederick Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bryan Station, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
