Softball Recap: Richland Center Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lancaster

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Richland Center had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancaster Flying Arrows, sneaking past 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kyree Fischer spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Richland Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carley Mieden, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Richland Center's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Lancaster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Richland Center has already played their next game (against Dodgeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lancaster does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
