Softball Recap: Alexandria Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alexandria). They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Pisgah Eagles on Saturday. Considering the Valley Cubs have won three games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Reece Carr made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Carr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that she got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pressley Slaton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Brenlee Sparks, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Alexandria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
