Football Game Preview: Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms vs. Hampton Bays Baymen

After each having a week off, the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms and the Hampton Bays Baymen will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bayport-Blue Point's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Bayport-Blue Point is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Kings Park: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Phantoms blew the Kingsmen out of the water with a 70-37 final score. Fans of the Phantoms have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Hampton Bays played a tough matchup last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 52-18 defeat at the hands of Shoreham-Wading River. The Baymen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.

Bayport-Blue Point's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hampton Bays, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything came up roses for Bayport-Blue Point against Hampton Bays when the teams last played back in September of 2019, as the squad secured a 38-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phantoms since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
