DC International had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Avalon Black Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since March 10th.

The team relied heavily on Jose David English, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Ferman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

DC International's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Avalon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, DC International will host Eastern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Avalon, they will face off against NOVA HomeSchool at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
