Volleyball Game Preview: Orcutt Academy Spartans vs. Nipomo Titans

The Orcutt Academy Spartans will square off against the Nipomo Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Orcutt Academy's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Nipomo has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Orcutt Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Bakersfield Christian, taking the game 3-1.

Orcutt Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Nipomo and Paso Robles, and Paso Robles kept the tradition alive. The Titans fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Nipomo took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Orcutt Academy's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Nipomo, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
