Baseball Recap: Farmington Tigers vs. Concord Christian Kingsmen
Farmington extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They lost 18-11 to the Concord Christian Kingsmen. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
As for Concord Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Kingsmen, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Concord Christian's part, Daniel Stopyro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stopyro was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, TJ Charbono was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Andrew Doyle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
