Football Recap: Western Pioneers vs. Banning Pilots        
        
		
             Western's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They strolled past the Banning Pilots with  points to spare, taking the game  53-35. The Pioneers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
  Jj Amezcua was  his usual excellent self, picking up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 149  receiving yards dating back to last season.
 Despite the loss, Banning still got an impressive performance from   Steven Perez, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Perez's longest reception was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another player making a difference was  Noa Tuvalu, who rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown.
 Western pushed their record up to 2-2 with that  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Banning, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western will have plenty of time to enjoy the  win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Anaheim at 7:00  p.m.  on September 27th. As for Banning, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Palos Verdes  at 7:00  p.m. Banning knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Palos Verdes likes a good challenge.
