Preview: Springdale Dynamos vs. Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions
After two games on the road, Springdale is heading back home. They will take on the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Greensburg Central Catholic is ranked 75th).
Last Friday, Springdale came up short against Jeannette and fell 66-54. Springdale has not had much luck with Jeannette recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
In what's become a running theme this season, Greensburg Central Catholic gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Clairton as Greensburg Central Catholic made off with a 73-49 win. 73 seems to be a good number for Greensburg Central Catholic as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Springdale's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-4. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Springdale came up short against Greensburg Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 71-58. Can Springdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
