Football Recap: Ronan Comes Up Short

Ronan extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Whitefish Bulldogs and fell 65-0. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 20th).

As for Whitefish, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Whitefish was led to victory by Luke Dalen and Vance Schwaiger. Dalen rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown, while Schwaiger rushed for 98 yards and one score. Those 98 rushing yards gave Schwaiger a new career-high. Vlad Shestak got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ronan will take on rival Columbia Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Whitefish is set to square off against their familiar foe Polson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
