Flag Football Game Preview: Escondido Charter Tigers vs. Lincoln Hornets

The Escondido Charter Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Lincoln Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Escondido Charter's defense has only allowed 5.9 points per game this season, so Lincoln's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Escondido Charter didn't have too much trouble with Francis Parker as they won 21-7. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Lancers are ranked 364th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Escondido Charter can attribute much of their success to Riley Graff, who threw for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 47 yards and one score. Those 47 rushing yards gave Graff a new career-high.

Escondido Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Teagen Hustead led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against Mission Bay, falling 45-6.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Escondido Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
