Basketball Recap: Grant Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Temple Christian over Lake Country Christian

If Temple Christian was feeling good fresh off their 80-51 takedown of Mercy Culture Prep last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The match between the Temple Christian Eagles and the Lake Country Christian Eagles didn't end well, with the Temple Christian Eagles falling 55-37. Temple Christian hasn't had much luck with Lake Country Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Temple Christian lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Grant Walker, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Walker has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Jeremiah Thirdkill was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Temple Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Temple Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lake Country Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Temple Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-44 win against Trinity Valley on the 20th. As for Lake Country Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-66 defeat against Liberty Christian on the 21st.
