Eisenhower had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Colton Yellowjackets, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-3 defeat two weeks ago.

Paige Hamner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Cari Nelson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

As for Colton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

On Colton's side, ANDREA VARELA made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. VARELA was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most triples she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, VALERIE VARELA and SADIE RODRIGUEZ did most of the damage at the plate: VALERIE got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two doubles, while RODRIGUEZ went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most runs VARELA has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was MALEAH JUAREZ, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
