Volleyball Game Preview: East Providence Townies vs. North Kingstown Skippers

The East Providence Townies will venture away from home to challenge the North Kingstown Skippers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

East Providence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Bishop Hendricken, who was ranked 14th at the time (East Providence was ranked fifth). The Townies fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Townies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

East Providence started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 21-25, 25-0, 25-0, 15-0.

Meanwhile, North Kingstown strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Bishop Hendricken with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

East Providence's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for North Kingstown, they pushed their record up to 23-0 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

East Providence came up short against North Kingstown when the teams last played back in April, falling 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Skippers' Stephen Dufour, who had 21 digs and two assists.
