Softball Recap: Bay Takes a Loss

If Bay was riding high fresh off their 20-7 takedown of Valley Forge last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets came up short against the Buckeye Bucks on Tuesday, falling 20-6. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Bucks: they've now lost three in a row.

Caitie Petersen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stehlik, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Buckeye, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Bay will take on Magnificat at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Streaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Buckeye, they will square off against Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
