David Johnson Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, David Johnson posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Hickory Ridge over Cox Mill on Friday. Johnson rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Hickory Ridge is on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. Johnson and Hickory Ridge will take on West Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mooresville Gets a Boost from Norman in 49-7 Win

Mooresville picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Brody Norman. A.L. Brown had no answer to Norman as he threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Norman might have his next game, a road matchup with Lake Norman, circled on his calendar. Norman rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in October of 2023.

Cox Mill's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Landon Stewart

Thanks in part to Landon Stewart, Cox Mill said goodbye to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season. The dominant performance also gave Stewart a new career-high in rushing yards (-1).
