Basketball Preview: Olentangy Liberty Patriots vs. Hilliard Davidson Wildcats
Olentangy Liberty is 10-0 against the Wildcats since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Olentangy Liberty Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Olentangy Liberty is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Last Saturday, Olentangy Liberty faced the Monarchs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Olentangy Liberty fell 39-27 to the Monarchs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Olentangy Liberty has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Olentangy Liberty saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gigi Bower, who scored 12 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Addy Pyles was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hilliard Davidson also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to the Shamrocks by a score of 44-37. That's two games in a row now that Hilliard Davidson has lost by exactly seven points.
Olentangy Liberty's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Hilliard Davidson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Olentangy Liberty against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 63-19 win. With Olentangy Liberty ahead 31-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
