Soccer Recap: Smithville Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Smithville kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Park Northmen. Smithville were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oak Park apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The win got Oak Park back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Oak Park, they will square off against Staley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give Oak Park their first taste of in-conference action this season.
