Kiel had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-11 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Reedsville Panthers by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 two weeks ago.

Liz Neils was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Taylor Halfmann was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Kiel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reedsville only managed four hits.
As for Reedsville, they moved to 8-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Reedsville's side, Kayla Bubolz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Reedsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josee Busse, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Clare Delsman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kiel will take on Chilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Reedsville, they will face off against Valders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
