Soccer Game Preview: Yulee vs. Fernandina Beach

The Yulee Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Fernandina Beach Pirates at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Yulee is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over Andrew Jackson on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Fernandina Beach was forced to settle for a draw. They and Providence School finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Yulee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five contests. Fernandina Beach's draw gives them a new season record of 6-5-1.

Yulee might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Fernandina Beach when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Yulee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
