Volleyball Recap: Gilbert's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Gilbert unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the North Central Knights by a score of 2-1. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gabby Esposito paced Gilbert's offense, picking up eight kills. Esposito got some help from Kaylie Spires and her 14 assists.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for North Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Gilbert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Ben Lippen on the 20th. Hopefully North Central paid attention to the Indians' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
