Basketball Game Preview: Weston Ranch Cougars vs. Centennial Bulldogs

The Weston Ranch Cougars will take on the Centennial Bulldogs in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weston Ranch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Weston Ranch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 66-52 win over Bakersfield Christian last Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Darrion Lilly was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Banks, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points.

Weston Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Centennial put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Silverado as Centennial made off with a 90-65 win. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Weston Ranch's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 98.4 points per game. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-0.
