Slidell had won eight straight games and Ava Labat did her part to make it nine on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Ponchatoula Green Wave 3-0 with plenty of help from Labat, who hit 100% for five kills and 12 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 17 or more assists the last 24 times she's played.

Slidell not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Ponchatoula between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-15.

Slidell's record now sits at 24-5. As for Ponchatoula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11.

Slidell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Hahnville on the 17th. As for Ponchatoula, they will square off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
