Baseball Recap: Haskell Comes Up Short

Haskell couldn't beat Kellyville on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Haymakers fell 11-6 to the Ponies. The Haymakers haven't had much luck with the Ponies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jaxon Drain was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He has become a key player for Haskell: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-8 otherwise. Elias Gonzales was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Haskell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Kellyville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Coming up, Haskell will challenge Stroud at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kellyville, they will face off against Dewey at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Ponies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
