Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Eagles vs. Clinton Cougars

The Jefferson Eagles will face off against the Clinton Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Jefferson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Marshall 43-41.

Meanwhile, Clinton earned a 68-57 win over Monroe on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cheesemakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Everything went Jefferson's way against Clinton in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, as Jefferson made off with a 57-33 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
