Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon lost against Harrisburg back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams fell 5-1 to the Bulldogs.

Mt. Vernon got a good showing from Owen Burke, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs Burke has allowed since back in April.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Harrisburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Mt. Vernon is taking a road trip to challenge Zeigler-Royalton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harrisburg, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Goreville at 4:30 p.m.
