Softball Recap: Carlin's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Saturday just wasn't the day for Carlin's offense. They came up short against the Wells Leopards on Saturday, falling 15-0. The loss was the Railroaders' first of the season.

Carlin's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for Wells, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlin will head out to square off against Round Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Round Mountain will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Carlin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wells, they will venture away from home to face off against Virginia City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Virginia City knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Wells likes a good challenge.
