Basketball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Brownstown Central Braves

Orleans hasn't had much luck against Brownstown Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Orleans Bulldogs will square off against the Brownstown Central Braves at 7:30 p.m. Orleans will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orleans beat Eastern Greene 51-46. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th in Indiana, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 319th in Indiana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nate Brown had an outrageously good game as he went 5-for-6 to rack up 16 points. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high. Bryce Jones was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Brownstown Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 66-61 to New Albany.

Orleans' victory was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points over those games. As for Brownstown Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-2.

Orleans was dealt a bruising 78-47 loss at the hands of Brownstown Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Orleans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
