Volleyball Recap: Olympia Spartans vs. Maroa-Forsyth Trojans
Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17.
Maroa-Forsyth had a senior duo take command as Taylor Crouch had three digs and 13 assists and Brynn Jostes had nine digs. Crouch is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Maroa-Forsyth, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympia will take on Delavan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Warrensburg-Latham at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
