After flying high against Sudan last Friday, Hale Center came back down to earth. The Hale Center Owls took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Farwell Steers on Tuesday. The Owls' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Hale Center's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-7. As for Farwell, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.

Hale Center and Farwell should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Hale Center will challenge Bovina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 1,158 places (373 vs. 1531). Similarly, Farwell (ranked 375th) will meet Sudan (ranked 1063rd) at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
