Baseball Recap: Monument Mountain Comes Up Short

Monument Mountain fell victim to Drury and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Blue Devils. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Monument Mountain and nudges their season record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-4 Ware (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.2% over those games). As for Drury, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Monument Mountain will challenge Hampshire Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Drury, they will host Ware at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
