Recap: Eau Gallie Commodores vs. Satellite Scorpions

The Eau Gallie Commodores pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Satellite. While losing is never fun, Eau Gallie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while Satellite is ranked 146th).

Eau Gallie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zander Hengehold, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Hengehold continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Timir Jace, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Eau Gallie bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Satellite, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eau Gallie will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Vero Beach at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. One thing working in Vero Beach's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Satellite, they will head out on the road to face off against Palm Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Palm Bay will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
