Basketball Recap: Lexington Minutemen vs. Richmond Spartans

Lexington entered their contest against Richmond on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lexington Minutemen fell just short of the Richmond Spartans by a score of 59-56. The Minutemen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 75-70.

Gabriel Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Richmond, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Johnson also posted five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Brice Dome was another key player, putting up seven points and seven assists.

Lexington suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 18-4. As for Richmond, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.
