Basketball Recap: Thompson Snags Tenth Win in Last 13 Games

If Hillsboro/Central Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Thompson, they should've done a better job of containing Karter Peterson. The Thompson Tommies walked away with a 60-47 win over the Hillsboro/Central Valley H-CV Burros on Saturday with plenty of help from Peterson, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards. Thompson is undefeated when Peterson posts 15 or more points, but 4-5 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Krogstad, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave him a new career-high.

Thompson is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. Hillsboro/Central Valley is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thompson will welcome Devils Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillsboro/Central Valley, they will take on Valley City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
