Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Reece Floyd and Annie Allen Lead Walton-Verona to Victory

Walton-Verona lost to Boone County back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Bearcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Rebels.

Leading Walton-Verona to victory were Annie Allen and Reece Floyd. Allen had six digs and six aces, while Floyd had 14 digs and one assist. Those six aces gave Allen a new career-high. Lindsay Goodman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Walton-Verona was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 9-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Walton-Verona now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Boone County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Walton-Verona and Boone County will both be playing Bracken County the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Polar Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bearcats will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
