Preview: Alice Coyotes vs. Harmony School of Excellence Hawks
Alice is 3-0 against Harmony School of Excellence since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Alice Coyotes will head out on the road to square off against the Harmony School of Excellence Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Alice has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Alice scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Robstown 86-40 at home. With Alice ahead 40-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alice to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Rivera, who scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals. Rivera continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Calvin Villanueva, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.
Alice's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Joaquin Molina got a bit more time on the court (17 vs. his season average of 5.96). Molina made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with four steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, Harmony School of Excellence had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Robstown with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 64-45. The victory was just what Harmony School of Excellence needed coming off of a 81-32 loss in their prior match.
Alice's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Harmony School of Excellence, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-17.
Everything came up roses for Alice against Harmony School of Excellence in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 80-50 win. With Alice ahead 47-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.
