Baseball Game Preview: West Monroe Rebels vs. Ouachita Parish Lions

West Monroe is a perfect 10-0 against Ouachita Parish since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. West Monroe will host Ouachita Parish at 1:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Monroe has five straight wins, Ouachita Parish has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ouachita Parish's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: West Monroe hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. West Monroe never let Ouachita Christian get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday.

Bradyn Cupit tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gage Carr, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Hawsey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Ouachita Parish's offense. They lost 11-0 to West Monroe on Thursday.

West Monroe's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Ouachita Parish, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
