Basketball Game Preview: Northampton County Jaguars vs. Weldon Chargers

The Northampton County Jaguars just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Weldon Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weldon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northampton County, who comes in off a win.

Northampton County took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Rocky Mount Prep 57-32.

Northampton County can attribute much of their success to Lydia Deloatch, who went 6-for-8 on her way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Deloatch a new career-high. Toccara Joyner was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Weldon was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 54-53 to Northwest Halifax.

Northampton County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. As for Weldon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Northampton County came out on top in a nail-biter against Weldon in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 42-39. Does Northampton County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weldon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
