Cannon posted their closest victory since May 10, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights 8-7. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Lilah Young, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Matthews, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Cannon now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coincidentally, Cannon and North Raleigh Christian Academy will both be playing Freedom Christian Academy the next time they take the field. North Raleigh Christian Academy will head out to face Freedom Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Cannon will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
