Carson hadn't done well against Mount Pleasant recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars skirted past the Tigers 35-32. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their six-point performance the game before.

Carson found their leader in sophomore Damo'N Broussard, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Broussard really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Another player making a difference was Griffin Barber, who rushed for 40 yards and two scores.

The win got Carson back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Carson will face off against Pine Lake Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Pleasant, they will challenge Central Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
