Softball Game Preview: Cox Falcons vs. Kempsville Chiefs

Cox is 0-10 against Kempsville since March of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Falcons will welcome the Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cox 3.7, Kempsville 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

First Colonial hit Cox with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots.

Cox saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmy Bowen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Kempsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Bayside.

Kempsville's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Cox, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
